We have never stayed anywhere more magical! The owners are the sweetest. They have thought about every detail, it is pure perfection. The view is like nothing I have seen before- pictures honestly don’t do it justice, it is jaw dropping. There is a small shop on property where you can buy food, snacks and alcohol (try the roti it’s incredible). Definitely order the breakfast it is so delicious, the plantains are out of this world. There is nowhere else on the island that compares! We cannot wait to come back!

My wife and I were in need of a bit of a getaway, we found fares to St. Vincent and Bequia, and packed up for an adventure. We were exceedingly fortunate to find a last-minute deal for a lovely private room at the Tropical Hideaway. The room was beautiful, offered a balcony and a brilliant view of the harbor. Martin and Julie greeted us when we arrived, and made the stay very pleasant. The pool was amazing (we saw the green flash on our first sunset there!) and we enjoyed speaking with the other guests in the common areas.

The shop was very inclusive (in fact, we say that if we go back we won't need to worry about food at all) and prices are very fair. Wine selection was great!

The water source is filtered rainwater so it was so nice to be able to drink right from the tap.

The bed was exceedingly comfortable.

Martin and Julie had great cab connections and also offered very helpful activity information. We took the Friendship Rose for a day cruise to the Tobago Cays, swam with sea turtles and had a wonderful time (we highly recommend that as an activity not affiliated with Tropical Hideaway).

Honestly, should we ever find ourselves back in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (and we hope to!), we'll head to Bequia and stay here the whole time. It's truly magical.

I'm not sure where to begin. Bequia is stunning. It is the perfect place to do nothing at all and enjoy every second of it.

The Tropical Hideway - what a joy. My husband and I stayed over the Christmas holiday at this little slice of paradise. We stayed in the very private Hibiscus Cottage that offered total privacy. This villa had a well outfitted kitchen, wonderful bed, and spectacular views. The attention to detail in our villa, as well as the entire property, was beyond compare. The offerings of the onsite store were complete and competitively priced. The available morning breakfasts were delicious.

The hosts, Martin and Julie were welcoming and accomodating. They made getting to the property and taking trips into town so easy with their available taxi serivce through Damaris who was a gem herself. They also provided us with a starter package of goodies that was diverse and yummy.

Tropical Hideaway comes with my highest recommendation. Just don't tell too many people. I don't want to have to get in line to book again.

Tropical Hideaway was fantastic. The stunning accommodations, unrivaled infinity pool and views and the best hosts (Martin and Julie). They take care of every need and maintain the most beautiful property. Bequia is a special island without crowds. We are divers and loved the diving but nothing was as special as knowing that we would come back to Tropical Hideaway (our special home). Julie and Martin have a wonderful provisions shop with great prices where we were able to buy prepared meals, adult and regular beverages and staples. We didn’t even need to go to the grocery store! They love hanging out with their guests and made the most wonderful traditional Christmas dinner. We loved all the people who stayed in this paradise and had the best time hanging out. We loved Tropical Hideaway so much that we booked our same room for next year while we were on our trip. We can’t wait to go back and the other guests we spent time with are also talking about going back. This is our new little paradise.

We've stayed in 3 different rooms and can't wait to try another one. Martin and Julie are down to earth and great hosts. The craftsmanship and upkeep are a great example for anyone in the industry. Leaving at the end of a stay is both heart wrenching and satisfying.

Tropical Hideaway is a dream. Private, amazing view, unbelievable pool, gorgeous rooms with everything you need (kitchenette!) and wonderful hosts. We felt like personal quests in their home. We loved Bequia, and especially staying here. We'll be back!

Tropical Hideaway is the place to be in Bequia! You deserve some time in paradise! Stunningly beautiful accommodations! The gardens are glorious! Relax in the infinity pool with swim up bar! Gorgeous views from private verandas! Martin and Julie are the very best hosts! Martin's rum punch is the best on island. Don't delay your turn to experience paradise!

"Gobsmacked"! A quiet, tucked away and unique treat on Bequia. This home turned boutique hotel offered a wonderful way to take in the island. Whether from the expansive veranda with a view of Cape Elizabeth or from the infinity pool that offered the same spectacular view, it was a delight. Our room was excellently appointed. The detail to visitor's comfort was more than impressive. The grounds were meticulously tended to by Marlin. Julie and Martin covered all bases and then some.

If you're endlessly scrolling through web site after website looking for the perfect getaway, you can stop scrolling, you've found it! We stayed here for an amazing 10 day getaway and enjoyed every second of it! Martin and Julie are simply amazing people and hosts!

We flew Miami into St. Vincent and right out of the gate, they were looking out for us by arranging a pickup form the airport to the ferry. Our driver was Rodmon and he provided a lot of interesting history on the drive to the ferry and even stopped to show us some sights and grab a beer.

Once we arrived at Tropical Hideaway, the level of service we were going to receive was very evident as Martin and Julie were both waiting (with a rum punch) for us when we exited the taxi. They gave us a tour of the grounds and explained everything we'd need to know while we stayed there.

We stayed in the Hibiscus room, which I must say was simply incredible. Stairs to and from the room were a minor challenge, but well worth it for the view and privacy the room provided. The room was neat, clean, modern, and cozy. You can tell that your hosts have put a lot of thought into every detail and are always improving upon what they've already done.

The pool.ahh the pool; this was the staple of our stay. We found ourselves in the pool almost daily for many hours. The view and amenities available to each guest in the pool area are impressive. The pool's construction is also impressive and you're bound to enjoy every detail. There's a bar area and another small area to nap if you'd like, both well maintained and clean.

I can't say enough about this establishment, nor do my words do it justice. All I can say is that you really must see it for yourself to fully appreciate what Martin and Julie have done here!

Me and my family stayed there in July of 2015 and had the most amazing time! We went to celebrate my parents 20th wedding anniversary and brought my entire family (there is 7 of us) and both sets of grandparents and had more than enough space! The view is amazing and the host, Julie and Martin where amazing host and hungout with us the time we where there.
I highly recommend this place to anyone!

What a magical little place that is so perfectly named. It really is a "Tropical Hideaway" on the small island of Bequia (pronounced "beck-way"). It is just south of the main island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. A short ferry ride south and you enter the beautiful Port Elizabeth.
My wife and I spent our first anniversary at Tropical Hideaway, and it was the perfect place to escape and relax and enjoy each other's company! We had a private bungalow off to the side away from the main building. One of the main things about this place is the exclusivity and privacy of it. There can be a maximum of 12 guests in the various buildings and rooms that they have available. Each room has it's own unique design elements. One of them even has a bath tub made of a very large stone.
The beautiful Princess Margaret beach is a short 20 min walk down from the hideaway. (the walk back is a little rough, because you are basically going up steps for 20 minutes) Although, you really don't need to leave the complex.
The highlight of the property is their very large infinity pool that overlooks Port Elizabeth! Such an amazing view.
If you are in SVG and plan a visit to Bequia, you NEED to spend a couple days here at the minimum!

I really don’t know where to start with my review of this AMAZING place called Tropical Hideaway (TH). My husband and I originally planned to visit in 2020, and then Covid hit. After several postponements, we finally made it in June 2022. The owners, Julie and Martin, were incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning/postponement process! They were always on the other end of the computer with a quick response to answer any and all questions. Their website and Guide to Tropical Hideaway also provided extensive information that helped us in our planning. While the years passed and we anticipated our trip, I remember scrolling through the pictures online thinking, “Could it really be this beautiful? Anything can be edited! The water, the sailboats, the rooms, the grounds…. Is it really all that? ” The answer is no. It is BEYOND anything the pictures can convey; it’s a PARADISE! I remember the anticipation of arriving. Martin and Julie were there smiling, holding a beautiful drink, and they welcomed us with such warmth.

We stayed in the Hibiscus Cottage during our first week and the Penthouse Suite during the second. The view from the veranda of the Hibiscus is breathtaking, as it is from everywhere at TH. I thought we had arrived with the hibiscus, but the Penthouse was literally OVER THE TOP! You need to experience it to believe it.

A typical day for us began by opening our eyes to a view that never got old. The grounds were meticulously cared for by Marlon and Nim. Every day they worked hard to keep TH looking beautiful. We opted for daily breakfast in the main commons area which has a beautiful view overlooking the infinity pool and the harbor. We can’t brag enough about Ann-Marie and Zeann. They are phenomenal cooks and took great care of our room. They worked hard to make our stay memorable and happy. We left them both teary eyed as we felt like we were leaving family. I also know Tonga and Trini will miss me…meeeeowwww!

Every day we chose to either explore, lounge by the beach, snorkel, or hike. Usually, it was a combination of all. I could’ve stayed at TH and lounged by the pool every day, but the beach called us. The walk down to the beaches, which we did daily, is all downhill. Although we did walk back up on occasion, after a day of “indulging” we would many times call Gunno for an assist. He is just one of the taxi services that are available on the Island, however, we used him exclusively. He was always available and showed up with a smile and much enthusiasm. We met plenty of local vendors who never pushed their merchandise or made us feel uncomfortable. The beach bars and restaurants are plentiful and offer great food, drinks, service and a fantastic view. Mac’s, Jacks, Papa’s, Coco’s, Petra’s, Mangoz, Laura’s, De Reef, and Keegan’s are just a few that we frequented. When we weren’t dining late at one of these restaurants, we spent our evenings in the INCREDIBLE infinity pool sipping a beverage while watching the sun set. The lights of the sailboats and yachts on the water and the backdrop of lights from all the homes on the mountainside is a sight to see for yourself. Martin and Julie would join us on occasion, and we enjoyed our conversations with them very much.

In addition to our daily routine of “beaching it”, we took a great tour of the island with Gunno which included a visit to Firefly Plantation. Martin and Julie took a hike with us to Bullet Point, which was another wonderful experience. Their “story” is beyond what anyone could imagine. To think someone had this vision, Tropical Hideaway, and made it come to life! They gave 110% to us and made us feel like we never wanted to leave! (Smart tactic!) They provided a PERFECT vacation for us and we are thankful for the time we were able to spend with them! We are sending six stars…one extra to shine down on Tropical Hideaway so we can find our way back again soon!

Loved every minute of staying on top of the world at Tropical Hideaway. We were well cared for, helped and hooked up with the best driver, DeMaris.

Let's be clear Tropical Hideaway is the must stay place on the island. The Penthouse was amazing and didn't disappoint. We absolutely loved our stay and the beach and town were a short car ride or walk away.

We have just returned from our fourth stay at Tropical Hideaway.

We booked Hibiscus Cottage for January but, due to COVID 19 travel restrictions, had to postpone twice and eventually arrived for our four week stay in October. We had never been "off-season" before and were worried that we might have bad weather but the sun shone almost continuously for four weeks, the pool temperature was gloriously warm and the island was as welcoming as ever.

Before visiting Tropical Hideaway we rarely visited anywhere twice but, as I said at the start, this was our fourth visit and we have arranged a fifth in 2023.

What makes it so special? Firstly the owners Martin & Julie are extremely helpful and do all they can to make your break run smoothly. The infinity pool with its spectacular views is stunning and you are unlikely to find better anywhere in the Caribbean. The accommodation (ours was Hibiscus but we have seen all the others) is well fitted out with all you need to self cater. The beds are comfortable and there is a great entertainment system with plenty of TV, film and music choices (although we did not use it being content to simply read, do a few puzzles and take in the views).

Martin and Julie have taken great steps to make you comfortable with efficient mosquito screening everywhere and the on site shop is very well stocked and saves too many shopping trips. It is also possible to have breakfast on site and we enjoyed three or four excellent ones. There is good WIFI and the cleaning and gardening staff are lovely.

We choose Hibiscus as we like the privacy it provides (being a fair number of steps down from the other accommodation) whilst still allowing you to socialise with other guests at the poolside if you wish.

We really can't praise TH enough. We're both late sixties and are well travelled but no longer feel the need to search further afar.

Due to a combination of being off season and COVID, many of the restaurants were closed but Jack's, Frangipani and Bequia Beach made us extremely welcome.

The island is beautiful, the beaches uncrowded, the sea clean (and warm) and the local people are very friendly and welcoming. We enjoy walking and felt safe walking everywhere on the island and were very pleased with ourselves to have managed some quite stiff hikes in extremely high temperatures.

I sometimes feel reluctant to write glowing reviews for fear that a place will become spoilt and overrun but, at the moment, the island is perfect for us and we hope that it will continue to be so. It will be interesting to see if the direct Virgin Flights from London to St Vincent result in a change.

After 3 (Covid) cancelled trips, we were very excited to be finally going back to Tropical Hideaway. The thought of having to quarantine not only in Bequia, but in our opinion simply the best hotel on the whole island was something we were relishing. We were collected at the airport, after having a PCR test on arrival and delivered safely to the door of the Penthouse Suite. Martin and Julie, both wearing masks and keeping a safe distance, clearly explained what the protocol and rules were during the next 2 days, until we received the green light from the PCR test. Currently double jabbed tourists have to QT for up to 48 hours. Well, stopping in this amazing place, with pre ordered food, well stocked fridge with beers, wine, bread, juice, ham, ice cream and anything else you wanted was blissful. Our freshly prepared breakfast was delivered to our door for the 2 QT mornings with piping hot coffee, toast etc and freshly picked avocados from the garden. As the Penthouse Suite (indeed all the suites/cottages are VERY generous in size) had sofas, hammock, swinging chairs and a massive balcony/terrace overlooking the pool/bay, and with a 65" TV and your own fully equipped Gym and BBQ area, our 2 days flew by. After receiving the green light, we continued our stay there for 2 weeks. Everything is pristine, spotless and the staff (Marlon, Neica and Annie) always give you a welcoming and warm smile and happy to chat. The infinity pool (most impressive and probably the largest on the whole Island) was perfect temperature due to solar panel heating, which meant that sitting and sipping wine, Martin's Rum Punch or beer in the evening, watching the sunset and the boats in the harbour for ages, was very relaxing and warm.
The freshly prepared meals that are available to buy and heat in your own microwave were very good, as for 2 weeks, we didnt always want to go out every night - especially if we were enjoying the evening swim.
I cant praise the experience, cleanliness, attention to detail and pristine and immaculate place enough. Its more than a hotel, its an idyllic retreat and escapism. With Martin and Julie, you also have genuine friends and the best hosts imaginable. Would not hesitate to go back and QT again there anytime - and hope to be back in November this year!
Book, Go and you will be pleased you did, the whole experience - Bequia and Tropical Hideaway is idyllic, safe and totally worth it!

Tropical hideaways is a beautiful vacation getaway when you want to escape the real world. The views from the Infinity pool is breathtaking and the room is spacious and one of a kind. Taking a bath in the stone tub was quite an awesome experience that my wife and I will never forget. The breakfast was top notch and the on-site chef was excellent. We will definitely visit again!

Absolutely stunning views! Tropical hideaway has my favorite pool on the island. You can get lost just laying around as if you are king/queen of the world. The rooms are each individualized and beautiful. The owners are helpful and available and one of my favorite people in Bequia is the gardener who keeps the place as lively and happy as his personality.

When we stayed at Tropical Hideaway in 2018 we called it "A Gem" in our reviews. Having visited again in November/December 2019 we have nothing to add! The fact that we broke one of our own "rules" not to visit the same place twice says it all. We had no hesitation in returning and would probably do so again. It is a lovely, relaxing and friendly place. If you're considering self catering in Bequia there's probably nowhere better.
